[General Editing Information](https://support.catapultcms.com/cms?hsLang=en#general-editing-information) # Global Links help reduce broken links. ## Link to pages across multiple sites using the global link option. ### How to Create a Global Link Global links are a powerful way to connect content across multiple sites within your organization’s CatapultCMS environment. If your user account has access to more than one site, you can use global links to direct visitors from one site to a page on another—perfect for sharing district-wide policies, events, or announcements. #### Accessing the Link Manager There are several ways to open the Link Manager, but the most common is by selecting the **chain link icon** found in many areas of your CMS. Once you open the Link Manager, you'll see five types of links to choose from: ### Link Types: - **Internal:** Link to another page within your website. - **External:** Link to a page on a different website. - **Document:** Link to a file such as a PDF or Word document. - **Picture:** Link to an image. - **Email:** Link to an email address. Each link type has its own setup instructions, which we’ve detailed below. But to create a **global internal link**, follow the **internal link steps**—with just one key difference. --- #### Creating a Global Internal Link 1. Open the **Link Manager** (click the chain link icon). 2. A dropdown menu will appear above your site's navigation structure, allowing you to select from the sites you have access to. - *Note: This dropdown only appears if your account is part of a **global site group**, which is configured by the CatapultCMS support team. If you do **not** see multiple sites in the dropdown and believe you should, please **reach out to Catapult Support** to request global site access.* 7. After selecting the appropriate site, navigate through the site structure to find the page you want to link to. 8. Select the page and press **OK**. 9. Click **Save** to complete the link. --- #### Final Step: Save! Once your link is set up and you're happy with the settings, click **SAVE**. Your link will now be live and clickable. --- #### Need Help?
